Sunday Ride

We will be doing a 60 mile ride Sunday morning. We will meet at Stop and Shop on West Boylston St. We would like to meet at 8:30 so we don't cut too much into the day and get most of the ride done before the big heat of the day. Hopefully we'll see a few more faces out on the road. The route will take us through Sterling, Bolton, Hudson, Maynard, Stow, Berlin, Boylston, and back to Worcester. Hope to see you out there!

July 4th Ride

It has been a long holiday weekend at work, but I wanted to get out on the road Monday morning for 35 miles before I relax for the rest of the day with a beer permanently affixed to my hand. I'll be at Stop and Shop on West Boylston St for an 8:30 ride. I would go earlier, but it's been a long weekend. Hope to see a few people out there! That means you Roger!!

This week's ride

This week we will be doing to 40 miler again this Thursday. Starting at Stop & Shop on W. Boylston St. In Worcester. We will be looking for a kick-off time of around 2:30p can probably push that back a little if anyone wants to join and that is too early. This is a great ride Andy and I have done it before and this will probably become a staple ride. Hope to see people there. Ride hard and take chances!

Damn Rain!!

So today is obviously a wash for the ride. But to make up for it AJoe created a nice 50 miler for Sunday. Just have to narrow down a time to start.

Sunday Ride

Sorry I had to miss the ride on Monday and the ride on Wednesday. I hate it when work gets in the way, but it is a necessary evil. Wouldn't it be nice if we could enjoy our hobbies every day and work was scheduled around our hobbies?

I was able to make it out on Tuesday evening for a 43 mile ride to make up for not joining the rest of you out there. I just plotted a 53 mile ride for Sunday. It is a rolling route with a few mild climbs, but definitely not a taxing ride. We will meet on Rte 70, Main St in Boylston at the Lions Pop Warner football field. It is just past the intersection where Rte 140 and Rte 70 meet. If you're coming from Rte 290 you would take a left on Rte 70 and the field will be on your right.

The forecast calls for more sun than clouds and temps near 80. I was thinking of a 9am start so it doesn't get too hot out there, but if folks would rather start at 10am I'm game for that too. Text or call me if you're going to be there. Hopefully we can put a good group together! See you other there.

Couple rides this week

We are going to be doing a couple rides this week. One today and one on Wed. today's text me if you want to come so I can get you the address as we will start at someone's house and I don't want to put home addresses up in a public forum. Today will be a 30 miler down in Oxford that we will shoot for a kick off time around 3:30. Should be a good ride with a couple rolling hills. Wed. not sure of the distance yet and we will probably be starting at the Stop & Shop on W. Boylston St. in Worcester again but that one is more fluid. Hope to see everyone there, there have been some great rides so far. Also we might as well start planning on the end of year Quabbin loop and BBQ (with booze of course) any ideas on where to end it and cook out throw them up on the board.  Remember ride hard take chances ;-)

Thursday Morning Ride

The weather continues to be a drag, but Thursday is looking nice. I'm going to leave my house around 8 for a 30 mile ride around the Wachusett Reservoir. I'll swing through the Stop and Shop on West Boylston Street and see if anyone is milling around for a ride. I'll hang out until 8:20 for anyone who'd like to join me. Hope to see you out there!!

Postponed Until Monday at 1pm

This weather is a drag. What happened to the warmth and sunshine? Sunday's ride is postponed until tomorrow at 1pm. We'll meet at the Stop and Shop on West Boylston St in Worcester and we'll do the 40 mile route we had planned on doing Saturday. The weather calls for temps around 70 and some partial sunshine so this will be a much better day to ride. Hope to see you at 1pm!!

Ride Postponed :(

We are postponing today's ride because of the weather. Not a huge fan of riding in the rain and the radar showed no signs of it letting up with much heavier rain to follow what was already coming down.

We're going to shoot for a ride tomorrow, Sunday morning at the same time, 9am, and meeting in the same spot, Stop and Shop on West Boylston Street in Worcester. Tomorrow is supposed to be a little better weather than today, so we'll hope for the best and see you tomorrow.

Time change

Tomorrow's ride we will meet a little earlier so some others can join in. We will be meeting at the Stop & Shop on W. Boylston St. In Worcester for 9a now. Hope to see a bunch there and the weather holds out.

Saturday 40 Mile Ride

We had a nice group of 3 today for a 27 mile ride. Thanks to Roger for joining us! Roger did a great job out there despite some cramps.

The next ride is scheduled for Saturday morning at 11am. It should be cooler with temps near 70 degrees so it should be a great day for 40 miles. The first 30 miles of the route are rather flat and the last 10 have a few short climbs. We'll be meeting at the Stop and Shop on West Boylston St. in Worcester. Hope to see you Saturday morning!!

Ride is Tuesday

Sorry for the short notice. We are going to meet at 10am at the Stop and Shop on West Boylston Street in Worcester for a 30 mile ride. Is anyone up for a ride Saturday or Sunday? Let us know.

5th ride

The tentative day I am thinking for next weeks ride will be thur afternoon. If people would like a different day I am up for it. I usually bike 3 days a week, two 75 min rides and then a long one around 4 hrs. Also Andy is available some days that I am not.

3rd & 4th Ride

The third ride went well it was just AJoe and I. It would seem to have a penchant to pick rides with a slight hill or two. We will run another ride tomorrow afternoon. I am thinking a 4p start at the First Congregational Church in Boylston and to simplify the matter of the 4th ride we will do the Wachusett Loop again.

This weeks rides

That's right it is multiple this week. The first will be Tue. morning at 10a we will meet at the Paxton Sports Centre and do just over a 20 mile ride it will be the one posted on the bottom. If 10a is not a good time speak up and we can push it back say an hour if needed to 11a. The second ride I will put up later and add onto this post figure a 16ish miler Wed. afternoon/evening. I cannot wait to get back out with everyone an ride.

Congrats

Everyone should congrat Megan on her road race this past weekend. She competed in the Reach the Beach Relay for Wachusett to Westport. Congrats Megan on the RTB relay great job!

The next ride

Ok so I am back from the ride, ready to go and looking forward to getting back out there. This week the weather looks tough a small window in the middle of the week, which I happen to be working days. So two things we can try to do an evening ride on wed. or thu. or if someone wants they can lead a day ride on one of those days and I will catch up with everyone next week. Let me know ASAP other wise I will plan one out for say wed. evening after I get out of a meeting with UMass a 30 miler with gentle rolling hills :-p

The best time for the majority was earlier in the day. So the time has been changed to 11a. Pass the word and let's get a good turn out and hopefully get this thing to grow!

Next Ride

Megan is 100% right it is time for the next ride! Let's try to shoot for this Thu at 4p for a loop around Wachusett Reservoir. I think we can all meet at the First Congregational Church in downtown Boylston unless anyone knows of a better spot we can meet. Look forward to seeing everyone there!

Little set back

No ride scheduled this week. Between work and having to be forced to go to Miami for 5 days there just is not time to set one up. The thought was being bounced around for a Wachusett Reservoir loop for the next ride in two weeks. Any thoughts or suggestions about a day or ride would be great.

First ride

Well as all inaugural events there was one little hitch. I missed the turn for the loop, still not sure where I screwed up but either way AJoe and I went out and did 18 miles turned it into a 9 mile out & back. It was great to get out and ride. Just a little chilly. Oh and then there was the wind which wasn't too bad except one point by a store we hit this wonderful little breeze head on and talk about hitting a wall. But it was a great time I will try and get the next ride posted this weekend. I am hoping more will show and am looking forward already to the end of year BBQ.

First Ride

Ok all here is the first ride. There is a Mapmyride map of it below. Something not to bad for the first time out. We will meet at Long Pond Boat ramp on 4/21 at 2p and plan on heading out. If there are any suggestions to change things around throw it out there as this a work in progress. Hope to see lots there!

Coming Soon we will be looking to start weekly bike rides and ending the ssummer with a long ride and a BBQ. Thursday nights seems to be the best so far for most.  We can always move it around. Sign in to follow and keep up on the info as it is posted. Any suggestions throw them up.
